History Is Full Of Mystery

This interesting photo was taken in 1955 for an article in the Boston Traveller, and supposedly shows Civil War veteran William Lundy posing with a jet-fighter on his 107th birthday. It really shows the progress in technology over the years, and the advancement in technological warfare. William Lundy claimed to be one of the last living Confederate veterans of the American Civil War, having claimed to have served with the 4th Alabama Infantry from 1864 to 1865.

Unfortunately this may not actually be true. Information was brought to light after William Lundy died which suggests that he may have been born in 1860, making him five years-of-age when the Civil War started. It is debated now whether or not William Lundy even fought in the war, however it’s an interesting photo.
