Kennedy Visits Nasa
Written by: George Chittenden : 31 Jul 2019
This brilliant photo was taken at Cape Canaveral in Sept 1962, at the NASA space centre. In the photo we can clearly see President Kennedy and Vice-President Lyndon B Johnson. During the visit President John F. Kennedy noticed a janitor carrying a broom. When the President paused his tour, he approached the man and said, "Hi, I'm Jack Kennedy. What are you doing?"

"Well, Mr. President," the janitor responded, "I'm helping put a man on the moon." In our opinion at The History Project, that’s a great response. Of course, only a month later most of the people in this photo were struggling to deal with the Cuban Missile Crisis, the thirteen-day confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union.
