Disney's First Studio
Written by: George Chittenden : 15 Jul 2019
This lovely photo was taken on October 16th, 1923, on the day the Walt Disney Company opened their first studio. In the picture we can see the Disney brothers, their wives and mother posing outside the Los Feliz storefronts on Kingswell, just east of Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles. Walt Disney moved to Los Angeles, where his brother Roy was already living. The pair landed a distribution deal for a series called Alice Comedies in the Autumn of 1923 and they produced it in their first studio. The company quickly became successful, and in 1926 they'd moved into a larger studio.
